This place will be one of the few places open on Sunday night in Miles City, so it's already way ahead of the curve! It is a much more relaxed environment then we saw at Black Iron Grill, so we opted for some local fare. All of their tap beer is from local breweries which was a nice touch, so you can expect to try something new. I ordered some spiced sugar glazed Salmon, I can't remember exactly. The salmon itself was great and well cooked, but I will say, as some other reviewers have mentioned - it was over seasoned. It had way too much sugary glaze on it. I may have opted for the herb seasoned had I known, but the salmon itself was great. My boyfriend got the ribeye, which was decent and well cooked, and our baked potatoes were HUGE! For a city with very limited dining choices, this place delivered.

We've never been to Miles City, Mt. but our B&B gave us some recommendations. Looked over their menu, then drove over there! They were packed! We waited 20 mins. But I think, it was worth the wait. Our server was very busy, and but she managed to give us good service, even visited with us towards the end, when she finally had a few minutes, when things had settled down! I ordered the Baby back ribs, with sweet potato fries & salad. My husband ordered Lamb Chops, salad & garlic mashed potatoes and they were very, very good! The only thing, I've eaten baby back ribs many times before, but these seems SMALLER than most ribs I've eaten, for the price we paid for, we felt RIPPED OFF!

On my way through town. I asked around and 3 out of 3 said go to the Rib and Chop. So after a bit of searching I finally found it. It was incredible. Best ribs I've eaten. The atmosphere was fun, my server was great. We need one of these in Minnesota.

We had a suspicion this was a chain but the parking lot was packed and everyone was decked out with cowboy hats and boots so we figured why not? The beer selection was all local, which I appreciated. There was even a happy hour there so we got a little extra for what we paid. I ordered the ribeye steak based on the recommendation of the bartender and it was prepared the way I requested. I was pretty happy with the food and experience here and would recommend it if you're visiting.

In town from Chicago, looking for a steakhouse. Montana never disappoints! Walked right in, grabbed a spot at the bar. Steaks are always amazing in Montana.. Ordered it rare and it came out RARE which shockingly when I order rare, it's rarely that (see what I did there) my favorite part was the squash casserole. YUMMMMM! always love visiting Montana, and it's because of places like this.

We were seated immediately and Our waitress Jaimie was outstanding. My tenderloin was awesome. Price was appropriate. I will be back!!

We had reservations and were promptly seated. From there it was disappointing. It took 20 minutes before we had a waitress and were offered drinks. The waitress was kind - apologized that we had been neglected - I don't think we were supposed to be her table but she noticed we had been waiting a long time. When we finally were served I tried to eat my food but it was cold to the touch. I asked if it was meant to be served cold, and they took my plate with another apology and wait. When my food returned, it was obviously the same plate, but it had been microwaved. The bed of fresh spinach was also well cooked and soggy and the lemon has hot and cooked. Seriously - who presents food like that? Unfortumately, this was a very important occasion and we cannot redo our choice of venues. Very bad choice for us that night. On the plus side, our bill was adjusted.

Ate there last night. Awesome filet and rib eye for my husband! Excellent baked potatoes! Wonderful bloody mary! So so salad not too fresh. We would go back again.

We walked out! We were promptly greated and seated. I ordered a bud light draft and my wife just wanted water while while she looked at the speciality drinks. The menu seemed overpriced. We noticed a lot of flies on the ceiling and walls. After seeing them we decided just to have appetizers. When my beer came, I noticed it looked dark. It was a blue moon. That was enough to make us leave after telling the server.

Ew. Excellent attentive staff. Dining room had more flies than people. Steak was nice & tender but the chef absolutely ruined it with TONS of black pepper -- couldn't even taste the beef because my tongue was on fire from black pepper. And it was gross to keep swatting flies off the food. Will NEVER recommend or return.

I was in the mood for a steak so I stopped here . When I saw the menu prices I decided on a burger. Don't get me wrong, I'm not cheap but I refuse to drop $24-$30 on a steak in a place I've never ever been. I know what to expect at a Ruth Chris or a Shulas so spending that amount (or more) knowing I will be pleased is worth it. But at an unknown new place where the waitress writes her name on your paper table cloth with a crayon- spending that much is risky. I have been burned by places - spending a lot of money only to walk away very upset. Did not want to risk it here. After eating the burger- I am glad I did not spend three times as much for a steak. The burger was dry and well done when I asked for medium rare. However it did come with a cup of creamed chicken soup which was excellent! I did order a loaded baked potato as well and it was huge! Was very pleased with the potato! Overall it was an "ehhh okay" experience for $12. If the quality of the burger is any indication of the quality of the steak then I am glad I didn't spend twice for the same experience. Also- the waitress needs to know how much a draft beer is- no prices on the menu and I was charged 75 cents more for the beer than I was quoted. I didn't want to make an issue over 75 cents so I let it drop. Also they were not accepting credit card payments because their internet was down. This kind of threw me- how do establishments with no internet take credit cards? Overall it was an "okay" experience but I do not recommend.

First the staff is terrific!!! BUT food coming out of the kitchen was NEVER cooked as ordered or was RAW! First night, my salmon was raw. I went back to try something else the next night and it was a nightmare!! Ordered prime rib medium rare. They brought me an over cooked piece. I sent it back. They brought me a second prime rib dinner also overcooked so I sent it back. They then said then didn't have anymore prime rib so I ordered ribeye medium rare. The first rib eye was well done. I sent it back. The second rib eye was RAW - STONE COLD inside. The fat on the steak was still hard! The third rib eye was MOSTLY rare but I was out of patience. It was obvious the manager didn't know what was going on - - she should have been more on top of this. They didn't charge me for dinner and offered a complimentary dessert. That was nice of the management. The wait staff was very attentive and I know they felt terrible. Wasn't their fault.

Chicken and shrimp basket was great!! Ate there three times in a row. And you get to draw on the butcher paper on the table--kinda neat--

Our server Britt was cute and friendly but the food was not great. The buffalo ribeye was very tough. The pork chop was bland and overcooked. Probably wont be coming back.

We walked in as a group of 14 on a fairly busy Thursday night. They didn't even bat a eyelash and quickly made up a large table for us. The service was great, as was the food. I had a ribeye that was cooked to order and very juicy. For my sides I chose a dinner salad which was just typical but my other side was sautéed mushrooms the were a perfect complement to the ribeye and stout beer!

Pretty darn good! I've eaten here 5 or 6 times. The service has always been decent, but never really impressive; they are courteous but tend to take their sweet time with drink refills and occasionally forget small requests (additional silverware, etc). Every steak I've had here has been good and cooked as ordered. I did have one waiter, quite curiously, ask me how I wanted my pork chop once - I replied that I wanted it the only way you ever make a pork chop (well). And I got one that was probably medium and still a bit bloody; I sent it back and asked for a burger instead (which was quite good and I could tell they turned it around quickly after the faux paus with the pork chop). The casserole side dish is very tasty and I think I've tried every dessert and can't complain.

We first tried the fried green tomatoes, they were delicious. If you like ranch this has the good stuff, so I always think if that is homemade then there food must be too. The ribs were perfect, so soft almost fall off the bone. Also ordered the ahi tuna which was good and my party loved the loaded baked potato. The one thing that was not very good was there grabbers(mini burgers) they kind of killed them a 2nd time. Great waitress and good overall service.
(4)Barbaralee S.
This was a bad, expensive experience for us. Mediocre prefab food. Chicken fried steak, potatoes and squash casserole . Food covered up with excess spices and coatings. Fried green tomatoes heavily coated with various flavors. I could not even taste the tomatoes. Homemade blue cheese dressing on salad excellent. Service great. Piped in music too loud.

Got the grilled chicken sandwich took an hour to get to the table. I figured out why they burned it black all the way around and then to cover it up they cut it in half leaving the black to the bottom like I wouldn't notice it was burnt this place sucks

My wife and I stayed over night win Miles City Montana. We had diner at Montana's Rib & Chop Shop. I had the firecracker salmon special. The presentation was great and the flavor profile was excellent. It was sweet and spicy at the same time. The salmon was served on a bed of spinach which I usually do not eat. The flavor of the meal was so good I even enjoyed eating the spinach. The serve was also excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
(5)York L.
Friendly staff and warm environment. I had the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs and they were great! The meat fell off the bone so nicely that I didn't even have to pick them up with my fingers. Portions were just right. Not your typical BBQ joint that overstuffs you with bread and mediocre sides.

Well, I'm not sure how I really ended up in Miles City, Montana for work, but here I am! Most small towns have at least one place you absolutely have to hit before leaving, and this place seemed to be the most recommended by locals - man I am glad I went! Compared to CA prices, everything is very reasonably priced. Even the beer runs 2.75-3.75 a pint on tap...nice! I heard the baseball steak was killer and the fried green tomatoes were awesome, so I made sure to order them both. The tomatoes were awesome with just enough bleu cheese and balsamic glaze to give them a killer flavor, though I don't think this is the traditional method of serving fried green tomatoes. Then came the baseball steak...well...about that, I ended up just getting a ribeye. The bartender was more than willing to replace it with the steak that I originally ordered, but I sure love ribeyes! Damn that steak was good! Perfect fat content and the meat was Mmm Mmmmmmmmm good! I ordered medium rare and got slightly closer to medium, but that was a good cut of steak! Also, it was nice to have had my food timed out by the bartender...because of this I removed any knock for giving me the incorrect dish. It has been so long since I have ordered an appetizer, salad and entree and received them correctly spaced out (time wise) that I almost forgot how pleasant it was to not be bombarded with food or feel rushed. Very laid back and great service. EDIT: I finally got the baseball steak, and it was great for a sirloin, but a long shot from being tender like a filet (as I had been told). I also went back to try the filet one night and the buffalo ribeye another. The filet was magnificent - cooked perfectly, tender as ever and every bite was rich and mouthwatering. The buffalo ribeye was another story. Maybe I received a bad cut, but it had it's share of gristle. The different flavor of the buffalo was definitely there, and I loved that aspect, but gristle always seems to set me off a bit when it comes to a pricey steak (this ribeye is the most expensive steak on their menu, but still less expensive than I would expect a premium beef ribeye to be in CA :)). All in all, I haven't had any displeasing items from the rib and chop. Thanks for the cold beer and great food! I love how Montana is so involved in craft brews :D

On a seemingly endless move from Seattle to Philadelphia, I found myself in Miles City after having car troubles that resulted in being towed from a random rest area east of Forsyth to Miles City (in a hailstorm no less) for repairs. With the car fixed and a motel room secured, "What's for dinner?" was next on the agenda. Miles City is not a large town and I was in no mood for the Golden Arches. The Rib & Chop House doesn't exactly jump off the map, or even make itself known easily while cruising down the main drag...but I had seen it as I was towed into town. I liked the rustic vibe of the place, and the open window next to my table letting in a welcome, cool breeze. Got some odd looks from the locals at a number of tables in the dining room, but 3-foot-long multicolored dreadlocks probably aren't all that common in that neck of the woods. However, my waiter was a friendly guy by the name of Dustin - turns out he used to sport a headful of dreads himself back in his wandering days. As for the food, I had the best half-rack of babyback ribs I've ever tasted. Tender and juicy, almost falling off the bone but not quite, just the way I like 'em. Soft rolls, tasty battered fries and a big salad and a soda rounded out the meal. The portions were huge (but the bill was not). Took the leftovers back to the motel and stuck them in the fridge to eat for breakfast before getting back on the road the next day. The leftovers were good stone-cold, too. If you're on a road trip and find yourself crossing Montana and wondering where the hell you're going to stop for lunch or dinner in all that wide-open country, make it a point to stop at the Rib & Chop House in Miles City. You'll not regret it.

Perfection. I had the jambalaya tonight and my co-worker had the grilled salmon. Everything was cooked PERFECTLY! The only downfall was that I wasn't too impressed by their chilli for soup. I heard the gumbo was the way to go. Great restaurant they have here. Compliments to the chef(s) and team. This little town has a gem on its hands.

On a recent drive through Montana my husband and I made a stop here. I was expecting a much larger menu with a little more variety. The menu is varied but with only a couple choices. I didn't feel like a steak so I ordered the stuffed baked potato with chopped beef. The potato was cooked well and had adequate toppings but the chopped beef tasted like it came from the grocery store deli. I'm sure I just ordered the wrong thing since everything else smelled great. On the other hand, my hubby's pulled pork sandwhich was delicious! I would order that if I ever stopped there again. The waitress was very attentive but still lacking a bit and I couldn't put my finger on why. She seemed to be a little too by the book for my taste. If you are in the area it is not bad but don't go out of your way to try it.

Being from California, I'm enjoying the prices in Montana! We went to Montana's Rib and Chop House and had a great meal. My favorite thing was the fried green tomatoes. My daughter had the grill chopped salad with top sirloin, which she loved. My son had the clam chowder, he wasn't a fan. Then again, we warned him that there were no clams in Montana! For dessert we ordered the Ice Cream Sandwich, was was two HUGE brownies with ice cream in the middle..not really a sandwich. My only complain is that people need to smile more in Montana, and that includes the restaurants!

One of the highest Yelp-rated places in Miles City is Stagecoach Station, so when I set out from my hotel that was what I was looking for. As my coworker, Kelly, and I meandered around fruitlessly, however, we came across this place. Lots of cars parked all the way around the building with few spaces left. This is generally a good sign, so we stopped in. It's your typical roadhouse-type joint only without the peanuts on the floor. The menu is pretty varied with some interesting items like the Fried Green Tomatoes and Buffalo Ribeye. The place was clean, the ambience was friendly and casual just the way I like it, and the wait staff were friendly and attentive without wanting to talk my ear off. Unfortunately, the food was only so-so. By the time I got to Miles City, I was not only worn out on trying different variations of buffalo, I was also not very hungry. So I skipped the 16oz buffalo ribeye and went with the 10oz filet. I figured with this being cattle country the steak should be superb and you couldn't beat a fillet that size for only $23.95 (the no-tax thing in Montana is very cool by the way). Kelly went with the buffalo, which I had a piece of for comparison's sake. To illustrate the differences in tastes, Kelly loved the steak and the way it was spiced while I, on the other hand, could barely eat the whole thing. It was cooked ok and looked really good, but it was the consistency of a stringy sirloin and WAY over-spiced in my opinion. There was so much pepper and salt and whatever on the steak it made my eyes water! I've had steaks like that before and I understand some people like it that way, but to my way of thinking a steak should be spiced very sparingly so the real flavor of the meat can come through. Looking around, I noticed all the other steaks looked the same way, so I assume it's just the style of the chef at that place. To each their own. I'd definitely stop in again, not only because it's one of the few non-fast-food places in town, but also because the menu is big enough I'm sure I can find something on it I like as well as the ambience around me. Just won't be messin' around with any of those steaks again....
(3)David P.
The food was tasty, presentation plain, service efficient and friendly. Portions were smaller than usual, which was just fine. I would eat there again next time I am in Miles City.
(3)Mark W.
Fantastic! Great atmosphere, great foods (especially the ribs), and very friendly and efficient service. Ask for Sami and she'll sign her name on your table upside down with two crayons. Reasonable prices to boot. They have a nice wine list (including some great Washington wines) and a nice selection of beer (including some Red Lodge brews). If you're in Miles City, go out of you way to find this place. They also have locations in Billings and Livingston.
(5)j.p l.
You know you are in cattle country when you cannot find a restaurant that serves a vegetable. Well they did have a child's portion of salmon that was on a burning piece of wood that was pretty good. The lettuce (which the menu called a salad was..... lettuce.
